Derbyshire police rescue couple trapped in overturned car after 'strengthening their relationship'

A couple had to be rescued by police after their car flipped on its side while they were "strengthening their relationship".

Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit said they were called to an undisclosed location in the East Midlands county, where they discovered the parked Toyota Yaris had moved after the handbrake was dislodged.

They shared images this morning of the car tipped on its side in what appeared to be a narrow country lane.

The couple were not hurt during the incident, but had become trapped as the car blocked the road.

The policing unit wrote on Twitter: "At an undisclosed location in Derbyshire the couple occupying this Yaris had parked up and were strengthening their relationship.

"Whilst doing so the handbrake has become disengaged and it rolled down a hill before flipping on its side.

"No injuries."
