Derek Beaumont rips into St Helens and Salford Red Devils with savage swipe
Derek Beaumont has ripped into Salford Red Devils and St Helens after they crashed out of the play-offs. The charismatic Leigh Leopards owner, who saw his club reach the Super League semi-finals last weekend, could not resist poking fun at the two defeated quarter-finalists after the first round of the eliminators came to a close.
Leigh dumped the Reds out of the competition on Friday in a pulsating game while a day later, Warrington Wolves won a classic over St Helens as George Williams' golden point drop goal saw them secure a place in the semis at the expense of Paul Wellens' side.
And Beaumont, who has developed quite the reputation for garnering attention on social media, was quick to make a joke of the two clubs' misfortune.

Posting on X, Beaumont took a selfie outside a Betfred shop and said: "Hey Fred @Betfred what’s the odds please on a @SalfordDevils v @Saints1890 grand final in the @SuperLeague or am I a bit to late just catching up."
Beaumont has certainly been active on social media this year, regularly posting about Hull FC's season and even recently threatening to take legal action should they have avoided relegation despite finishing bottom of the table. And of course, earlier this month he handed the Sky Sports broadcast team a 'humble pie' after they clinched a play-off spot, despite many saying they would miss out.
The Leopards take on local rivals Wigan Warriors this weekend with a place in the Grand Final up for grabs.
