Bradley Walsh jokingly accepting the award for This Morning and Piers Morgan trying to take over as host weren't the only stage invasions on tonight's (January 23) National Television Awards.

During the VT that listed the nominations for the Bruce Forsyth Entertainment award, which Ant & Dec won, an unknown man ran on stage.

Dermot O'Leary intercepted the mysterious person and escorted him off stage where security dealt with him, while Bruce's former wife Wilnelia Forsyth looked on.

The man seemed to be a protestor, as his T-shirt had the word 'activism' on it, while a piece of paper he was holding read 'OPPRESSION OF IDEAS IS NOT FREEDOM LIKE U K MEDIA THINKS'.

As the incident happened during a VT, it was not broadcast on TV.

Before the award was given away, Bruce's wife Wilnelia spoke poignantly to the crowd: "I'm so proud and honoured that this special award is named after my darling Bruce.

"I know he'd love it because show business was his life. I also know if he was here tonight, he'd be saying to you, 'It was nice to see you. To see you, nice'."
