Dermot O'Leary in tears as 'angels' enter This Morning studio

Dermot O'Leary was overcome with emotion when two "angels" entered the This Morning studio.

Teenagers Freddie Corbett, 16, and Harley Hollingworth, 16, sprang to action when they spotted a distressed man on the railway track on Saturday night. The man told them he intended to take his own life, when the boys dragged him from the track with just 45 seconds to spare.

They then restrained the man for around an hour so he could not cause himself any harm.

The teens went viral after Network Rail employee Gary Robinson shared what had happened on social media. He said: "Called out tonight to a male with intent to self harm on the railway.

"These two lads were his angels! Dragged him off the railway... sat with him talking 'til I got there and make no mistake, saved his life!"

Freddie and Harley joined Dermot and co-host Josie Gibson on Thursday, along with Freddie's dad Billy. As Dermot spoke to Billy about his conflicting feelings of fear for his child's safety and of pride, his eyes filled with tears.

Dermot said: "You've got these two feelings to reconcile as a parent. 'I can't believe you've put your life at risk' and then those values and morals you and your wife have instilled... I feel like crying now. You must be so proud of him." Billy replied: "Yeah, there have been plenty of tears."

Viewers have been quick to react to the boys' brave actions on X, formerly Twitter, as Jacob said: "Absolute legends, hope them and they're parents are so incredibly proud of what they did. Top lads."
