Derren Brown is going to try to convince a man to sacrifice his own life for that of a complete stranger for a new show.

Called Derren Brown: Sacrifice, it’ll debut on Netflix later this year.

According to the streaming broadcaster, the illusionist will ‘attempt to radically transform, through the use of covert psychological techniques, one man’s prejudices’, and convince him to ‘lay down his life for a complete stranger he wouldn’t normally identify with’.

The special will reportedly span two continents, feature actors, stunt coordinators and ballistic experts to pull off the stunt, which will, presumably, stop short of the actual act itself.

The show follows Brown’s previous special for Netflix, the startling The Push, which found Brown trying to manipulate participants into committing murder.

Some reviewers called that show an ‘ethical nightmare’, while others called for some of the contestants on the show to be actually arrested.
