Despacito lyrics in English are way raunchier than you first thought

Justin Bieber claimed he couldn’t remember the lyrics to his hit Despacito – but maybe it’s because he was so taken aback by the meaning behind them.

A translation of Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s Spanish song, which features the Canadian singer, makes for some rather raunchy lyrics.

Despacito, which means slowly, features Fonsi singing: “Let me trespass your danger zones/ Until I make you scream.”

Yankee’s contribution is equally as sexual: “Come try my mouth and see if you like its taste/ I want to see how much love fits in you.”

The lyrics were deemed “obscene” by Malaysian authorities and the song was later banned from government-run radio and TV outlets.

Islamic party Amanah also called for the summer hit to be kept off Malaysia's airwaves to prevent young children from singing it without understanding the words.

“We respect the right to be entertained but there should be clearer guidelines so that the entertainment does not spoil people but makes them better,” party official Atriza Umar told The Star newspaper.

The suggestive Spanish song became the most streamed of all time after its release in January, amassing more than 4.6 billion plays across streaming platforms.

Acknowledging the title, which was previously held by Bieber’s Sorry, Fonsi said: “Streaming is a connector for audiences worldwide and it has helped my music reach every corner of the planet.

“It is truly an honour that Despacito is now the most streamed song in history.”

Bieber has struggled to perform the smash hit and came close to being hit by a flying bottle after admitting to fans in Sweden that he doesn’t know the lyrics.

On performing the song live at a New York in May he replaced “Despacito” with “Dorito”, and any other word he could find to rhyme, before he gave up altogether on trying to remember the lyrics and instead improvised with “jabba jabba jabba”.
