Details of Donald Trump's UK visit 'revealed': US president will 'tour country for three days'

US President Donald Trump will visit the UK for a 'best of British' tour lasting just three days, it was reported today.

President Trump's advisers will visit the UK soon to finalise details of his three-day UK visit which begins on July 13, according to the Mail on Sunday.

A massive operation to protect the US president will see him avoid London where possible due to mass planned protests after his arrival late on Thursday July 12.

Mr Trump is likely to touch down at Stansted Airport before being flown to the US Ambassador's residence in Regent's Park before dinner at Blenheim Palace.

During his the three-day trip, he will meet with Theresa May at Chequers before joining the Queen at Windsor Castle.

He is then expected to visit Turnberry golf course in Scotland before jetting back to the US.

He is not being afforded the full ceremony of an official state visit for his brief trip.

Elite armed police and counter terror officers will be on high alert, and 40 police cars and motorbike outriders have been demanded whenever Mr Trump travels by road, according to the Mail on Sunday, as part of what has been called Operation Manifold.

53,000 people are planning to attend the official protest against Mr Trump's visit to the UK.

Scotland Yard said: "We are preparing for a multi-faceted policing and security operation, involving the protection and movement of the president.

"The requirements of this complex operation need to be balanced with the right of individuals to a freedom of speech."

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn said on Friday that the UK should cancel the visit.

"It’s been downgraded time after time from a state visit to an official visit to a visit," he said.

"So I’m not absolutely sure what he’s going to do on this very brief time he has in the UK.

"I wouldn’t have invited him and I think the prime minister’s got ample reasons to withhold the invitation if she wants to.

"We need to say very clearly to Donald Trump ‘We live in a multicultural society, we’re proud of it. Get over it and start living in one yourself’."
