The electric shaver helps eliminate your chances of razor burn, irritation, and ingrown hairs.
Our editor tested the shaving device instead of using a traditional razor - read the full review.
Shaving my legs and underarms isn't something I think too much about - it takes me minutes to do, and I experience zero irritation afterward. My bikini area is another story. No matter how many tips, tricks, and tutorials I follow for shaving down there, I always end up with ingrown hairs and razor burn after, which makes me dread the task. But then I discovered Bushbalm's The Francesca Trimmer ($65), which has been a complete game changer.
Designed specifically for shaving all body hair (but with accommodations made specifically for pubic hair), the Francesca Pubic Hair Trimmer is handheld, cordless, and nick-resistant, and it has a battery life of up to five hours, which means it rarely needs to be charged. It's also conveniently waterproof, so you can use it in the shower as part of the rest of your body-care routine. The device allows you to get three lengths: no guard (giving you a super-close shave), 3mm, and 6mm. The shaving guard is particularly helpful if you're trimming hair between waxing sessions and it needs to be a certain length.
I like to remove all of my body hair - that's just my preference - but I hate the irritation that comes with it. For that reason, I got laser hair removal around my bikini line (best decision of my life), but that still leaves me shaving all of the hair elsewhere. With summer around the corner, I tested Bushbalm's The Francesca Trimmer in hopes of finding a solution that leaves me hairless sans bumps.
After charging the device fully, you simply pull the skin that you want to shave taut, gently press the head of the device against your skin, and work in short strokes in the direction of hair growth. I have coarse hair, and it removes it with no problem. It glides across skin gently, and unlike traditional razors, it's impossible to nick or cut yourself with it. Because it doesn't cut hair so incredibly short that there's potential for the regrowth to get stuck under the skin and cause ingrown hairs, I find it way less irritating for down there than other razors.
Though the trimmer doesn't claim that it'll leave you completely hairless, I found the shave it gives me without a guard to be pretty close, meaning that I don't need to use another razor (though you may want to based on your personal preference). For summer or just year-round body-hair removal, I highly recommend trying Bushbalm's The Francesca Trimmer to rid yourself of ingrown hairs and postshave irritation.
