Devon funeral notices: Heartfelt tribute to devoted nan

The family of a devoted 'nanan', mum and beloved wife from Torbay have paid tribute after her death. They say Wendy Penning, who died peacefully with her loved ones around her, will be "sadly missed by all her family and friends". It is one of many heartfelt tributes in this week's death and funeral notices.

We publish the death and funeral notices every week, as part of a longstanding tradition in local news. Last week, the family of Joyce Wilson from Paignton announced she had died at the age of 100 and would be fondly remembered by her family, friends and team mates at Hookhills Social Skittle Group.

The notices first appear on funeral-notices.co.uk, alongside in memoriams and acknowledgements. The website offers a permanent space to remember lost loved ones, where people can add their own photos, tributes and donations.

The most up-to-date death and funeral notices in Devon can be found here. Below are the notices from earlier this week:

The family of the late Steve Glasgow wish to express their heartfelt thanks to everyone for attending the funeral and wake of our beloved son, brother, cousin, uncle and great uncle. To all his friends, neighbours, workmates and schoolmates; and to his wonderful carers both past and present from 'Special Care Services.' to the caring staff from the Macmillan Unit at the Royal Derby Hospital, the district nurses, Treetops, Marie Curie and the staff at 111, our own GPs Dr Harvey and Dr Dew. Your care for Steve was everything we could have wished for. Thanks to Jackie, Scott and all at Wathall's for your kindness and consideration - Jackie you gave everything to make Steve's final journey perfect. To Claire Baggaley the Celebrant, you made us feel like we were friends - the service was a delight. To Passion Flowers for the beautiful floral arrangements, especially the hard work put into perfecting 'Belle' his best mate - it was amazing. To Connie, Amanda, Nikki and staff at the Stenson Bubble, everything was fantastic. Thank you for all the beautiful flowers and kind messages of sympathy. Also for the generous donations to the Macmillan Unit at the Royal Derby Hospital which have already raised over £500 in Steve's memory - we thank you all so very much. Last, but certainly not least, to my wonderful family for the love and support at one of the worst times of my life. To Rick and Tracy for all the help and caring to both Steve and myself during the last months of his life, they spent so much time trying to ease the nightmare that was part of losing him and to Sharon for her support while I was in hospital. Thanks to Connie and Mick, Stacey, Kimberley, Amy and their Studley Imports and Brian, Kady, Rich, Callum and Rhiannon. A special thank you to Rick and Callum who took on the difficult but wonderful task of being Steve's pall bearers and once again to Will whose amazing tribute to Steve surpassed anything we could have imagined or hoped for 'it was totally amazing!' Thank you. You gave us all a good laugh when we needed it most. Thank you and bless you all.
