It looks like everyone's favourite hero for hire Luke Cage is back in action in his own Netflix series.

Thanks to some eagle-eyed fans, there's some fresh evidence that Marvel Television and Netflix sneakily started filming the season season of Luke Cage in the last few days.

Several signs have been spotted in New York City marking off filming areas for Tiara, which is actually the rather surprising codename Netflix uses for Luke Cage when in production.

If that's not proof enough, cast member Simone Missick has updating fans along on social media as she whips herself into shape once again to play the badass cop Misty Knight.

This could signal a permanent change in Marvel TV and Netflix's production style, since Jessica Jones's second season is also being shot at this very moment too.

Den Of Geek surmises that this new strategy of filming two Marvel shows would potentially see Daredevil season three and Iron Fist season two go before the cameras this autumn, with all four shows releasing next year.

But first - Marvel's The Defenders will bring Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Daredevil and Iron First together in one series for the very first time as they face off with common enemy (Sigourney Weaver).

Marvel's The Defenders will drop on Netflix on August 18. Watch the first teaser below:
