Stormzy and Maya Jama split: Pair end four year relationship

Grime rapper Stormzy and long-term girlfriend Maya Jama have split up after four years together.

Speculation about the couple’s separation began circulating after The Sun reported that the musician and his TV presenter girlfriend had broken up to focus on their careers. The report also claimed that Jama had moved out of Stormzy’s South West London home.

The rumours were confirmed by Jama’s rep on Wednesday, who stated: “Yes, I can confirm the relationship has ended and Maya has separated from Stormzy.”

The ‘Vossi Bop’ rapper celebrated the TV presenter’s 25th birthday party earlier this month and the duo were spotted leaving Sexy Fish together. Stormzy previously wrote a song for Jama's 22nd birthday titled ‘Birthday Girl.'

The couple previously attended Glastonbury festival in June, where Stormzy performed and Jama supported him, calling the rapper an "icon."

They met in October 2014 at the Red Bull Culture Clash and began dating the following January.

In a February 2018 photo shoot and article for Vogue, Jama said, “You know, if I’m really honest, I knew I fancied him from the start. But I didn’t want anything yet, because, you know, you’re trying to do the whole friend situation first, and then I’d do, like, obvious hints that I fancied him and then take it back because I didn’t know if he definitely liked me. It was a childish phase. And then one day we just kissed, and that was that!"

Last year, Stormzy had hinted that he wanted to marry Maya, telling the Sunday Mirror: “I’m still so young but I want to propose, it’s going to happen and I will do it right. She is so sick, she is the best.”
