The Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle and Victoria Beckham are apparently becoming good friends. After helping the Duchess settle into life in the UK - recommending a facialist and an interior designer - Beckham, a mother of four herself, is now reportedly giving Markle advice ahead of her new arrival.
It's believed the Beckhams' friendship with the young royals was first fostered when Prince William and David Beckham worked together on London’s 2012 Olympic bid. David has also worked with Prince Harry on a number of occasions, including a trip to Africa for the FA and the Queen's Young Leaders Awards. He and his wife scored an invite to both Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s nuptials.
Where did Meghan Markle first meet Victoria Beckham?
Beckham and Meghan Markle have reportedly crossed paths at multiple fashion events over the years, but most recently, Meghan Markle has be seen supporting her pal's own fashion line on Christmas Day and Commonwealth Day, where she sported looks from Victoria Beckham's clothing line. Since the Duchess of Sussex moved to London, Beckham has apparently been her go-to for beauty advice. The Sun report that Meghan Markle was on the hunt for a facialist in London so Beckham set her up with Sarah Chapman, who owns an elegant clinic in Chelsea. The wait list is said to be six months long for her 90-minute treatment.
“Meghan has been really pleased with Victoria’s beauty recommendations and has her to thank for meeting new friends in London,” a royal insider told The Sun. “They have grown close and regularly text after Victoria told Meghan to visit Sarah Chapman, who bills herself ‘London’s most sought-after facialist’. Meghan trusts and appreciates her advice.”
How have the pair been bonding since?
Apparently Meghan Markle and Beckham have more in common than their mutual love for expensive facials. According to New! Magazine, a royal source said, "The girls have formed a close friendship over the last few months – bonding over their love of fashion, living in Los Angeles and building a thick skin to deal with negativity and backlash."
Meghan Markle has apparently also been taking pregnancy tips from the mother of four. "[Beckham's] helping her prepare for motherhood by giving her as much parenting advice as possible - especially when doing it with the world watching," the same royal insider told New! Magazine.
Meghan and Harry have also reportedly hired Vicky Charles, a Soho House interior designer who has previously done projects for the Beckhams, to help renovate of their new home, Frogmore Cottage.
