The Notorious BIG has been remembered by his wife Faith Evans and Sean “Diddy” Combs 20 years after the rapper’s death.
The artist, whose real name was Christopher Wallace, was fatally shot in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles on March 9 1997 at the age of 24. The case remains unsolved.
Diddy took to social media to share a tribute to the rapper, otherwise known as Biggie or Biggie Smalls, and said that the wound “ain’t healed yet”.
In a Twitter video, he said: “This year’s a sobering year. It’s 20 years for us, we lived 20 years of our lives without somebody that has been a big part of our lives, that has basically been responsible for the legend of our careers.
“He’s fed a lot of families, made a lot of people dance, made a lot of people feel good.
“On this day we’re going to reflect on him, because we miss him, 20 years later. Time heals all wounds, but this one ain’t healed yet.
“I want to thank all the fans, everybody praying – we love you all.”
In a separate post, Diddy – a frequent collaborator of the late artist – asked fans to salute the rapper by rapping their favourite Biggie verse and sharing videos on social media.

In an appearance on morning radio show The Breakfast Club on the anniversary of his death, Faith said she hasn’t been able to find closure due to the unsolved criminal case.
Faith, who married the rapper in 1994, said she can only “live with the great memories of BIG that we have”.
