Zoe Ball has told of her struggle to save boyfriend Billy Yates ahead of his suicide last year, admitting she didn’t know “how to help” him.
The TV presenter said she tried to help the cameraman during his battle with depression, but none of his friends or family could “find an answer”.
Ball, 47, admitted to having moments where she questioned whether or not she could have done more.
Speaking to Radio Times, she said: “I sometimes think, ‘I’m a resourceful woman, I’m a bright woman… why could I not save him?
“And then I have to stop and say, 'Everyone who loved him knew. None of us found an answer, none of us saved him'.”
