A NAIL technician from Poole recognised with a national award- There She Glows is our Trader of the Week.

Kayleigh Barber is the talent behind the There She Glows business, and produces some of the most beautiful nail art in the area.

The 25-year-old works from her home salon in Poole, and offers services including gel polish and acrylics, as well as eyelash lifts and tints.

Her nail art is adored by a regular set of clients, who refuse to go elsewhere for their beauty treatments.

Kayleigh said: “I form real friendships with my clients. We’re like a little family.

"I think they come to me because they feel like I care about them, I listen to them and I give them the nails they actually ask for.

"I take so much pride in my work and I’m always learning and improving my skills. I never give them a half-hearted set.

"Nails are like tiny canvases for art and its amazing to express my artistic side at the same time as making my clients feel beautiful."

Kayleigh first started practising with nails at the age of 14 after finding it was something she was good at and enjoyed.

She joined a beauty therapy course at college to expand her skills, but realised it was not for her, and traded it in for a nail specific course.

Then, at the age of 18, Kayleigh launched There She Glows.

The business is now in more demand than ever, and has even been recognised with a national award.

On January 22, Kayleigh travelled to Liverpool for the National Beauty Awards, where she was named Best Nail Technician.

She said: “I was told I was a finalist, so I was in the top five, but I didn’t expect to win because it was the first event I'd attended.

“Then they called my name, and I’d won. It was amazing.

"I am so proud of myself and so happy to have recognition for my hard work."
