Dionne Warwick became visibly upset on Good Morning Britain today (September 14).
She was perfectly happy at first as she promoted the charitable organisation Dot Com, which campaigns for the safety and empowerment of children.
However, when Susanna Reid and Ben Shephard brought up her late cousin Whitney Houston, the atmosphere changed instantly.
"Yeah, we are not going to discuss, okay?" the music icon hit back. "That's a bygone conclusion. We are not discussing that. We are here to discuss Dot Com!"
Susanna then apologised and tried to justify her question by explaining there is an upcoming documentary looking into the death of Whitney.
But Dionne was not interested in discussing her loss.
"I would just rather... First of all, this is a very personal thing," she said firmly. "Why would you guys even want to continue to hurt me like that? Because this hurts. So let's leave it there.
"Can we go on talking about Dot Com now?"
Ben then jumped into the conversation to stress that no disrespect was meant by either him or Susanna – however, Dionne wasn't interested in listening.
Dismissing his explanation, she said: "Yes, wonderful, thank you. Can we now talk about Dot Com?"
Those tuning in at home praised Dionne for shutting down Susanna and Ben as they tried to ask personal questions about Whitney.
YES Dionne Warwick - you tell 'em. Berated @GMB for bringing up cousin's death at a completely irrelevant moment. Leave Whitney alone.- Chris Jones (@HashtagChrisJ) September 14, 2017
