Christmas is a time for giving and Diplo definitely got the memo.
The DJ and producer made a spontaneous appearance at this year’s LA Gives Back music event, during only its second annual event.
Other DJs, including Ookay, Valentino Khan, and Ghastly, played to the 2,300 fans at the Union nightclub, before the superstar surprised everyone with a previously unadvertised set.
Recently split couple Rosario Dawson and Eric Andre were some of the famous faces in the crowd, as the pair also helped with some of the evening’s fundraising, according to TMZ.
The event raised a total of $60,000 which went to two shelters – My Friend’s Place and the Downtown Women’s Center.
Some of the stars attending and performing at the night gave Diplo a shout out on Twitter, after the success of the event.
Big b2b with my buds @diplo & @partyfavormusic last nite. Felt great to give back to the people of LA again this year. Great vibes overall & raised a ton of money for homelessness. Thanks to @TeamBandL and co. + all of you that came out & donated. pic.twitter.com/ZPtJjGxo4h

Diplo co-created dancehall music group Major Lazer, who had their biggest hit, the No.1 UK hit Cold Water, collaborating with MO and Justin Bieber, in 2016.
He’s responsible for helping to craft Grammy nominated track Paper Planes with M.I.A., before exploding onto the scene and collaborating with the likes of Shakira, Bruno Mars, and Snoop Dogg.
