Disabled woman assaulted outside of Wetherspoon in Truro
Police are investigating following reports a disabled woman was assaulted outside of a pub in Cornwall. An investigation has been launched after the woman was allegedly attacked outside of Try Dowr in Truro.
The incident occurred in the afternoon of Sunday, January 19. Police have confirmed it was reported a woman was assaulted by another woman.
The incident occurred shortly after claims of a kidnap attempt in the same public house which police have since confirmed there was no evidence of and is no investigation over. Devon and Cornwall Police has confirmed enquiries are ongoing in relation to the assault.
A spokesperson said: "Police are investigating following reports of an assault on Lemon Quay, Truro, on Sunday 19 January. It was reported a woman was assaulted by another woman outside a public house. Enquiries are ongoing."
The victim is understood to have disabilities as she is recovering from a stroke.
Police previously and separately said: "Police were called to Lemon Quay, Truro, at around 4.35pm on Sunday 19 January following reports of a suspicious incident involving a woman and a child at a public house.
"Officers attended the location. No evidence of any wrongdoing involving the woman towards the child has been identified."
