Disgraced Bruno Langley 'planning showbiz comeback'

Former Coronation Street actor Bruno Langley is said to be planning his TV comeback just weeks after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting two women in a Manchester nightclub on 30 September.

Bruno was fired from the ITV soap as soon as the first woman accused him of sexual misconduct, but the star hopes that the trial doesn’t mark the end of his showbiz career.

Speaking to The Sun, a source explained that Bruno knows he “won’t act in a meaningful way again”, but he instead hopes to return to work behind the camera.

They shared: “He feels he’s got so much to give in the future.

“He’s also a talented writer and knows the business very well and has some very good skills as a director.

“Bruno’s dream is to pick up his career behind the camera.

“He also writes scripts as well, so that is another avenue for him to explore in the future.”

Bruno had played Todd Grimshaw in Coronation Street for 16 years before he was sacked, with the 34 year old given a 12-month community order and ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register for five years as well as pay £500 in compensation after he pleaded guilty to the two attacks.

The judge heard how the actor grabbed the first victim by her crotch after she collected her coat from the cloakroom, with the woman saying that she was “too shocked and angry” to react before she reported the incident to the police.

The second victim said that she was “forcefully touched” in an “intimate place” by the star.

Bruno, who was drunk at the time of the assaults, admitted to having a problem with alcohol and issued a heartfelt apology for his actions.
