Disney's Frozen is moving full snow ahead towards Broadway, with its cast now official.

A big announcement from Disney Theatrical Productions revealed the exciting news that two stage veterans have landed the biggest roles of their careers as Elsa and Anna.

Sadly the princesses won't be played by original cast members Idina Menzel and Kristen Bell, rather producers have signed Caissie Levy as Elsa and Patti Murin as Anna.

Caissie is a Broadway heavy-hitter who has played Fantine in the Broadway revival of Les Miserables and Elphaba in the touring company of Wicked, while Murin was on the Great White Way in Xanadu and Lysistrata Jones.

The ensemble will also include Greg Hildreth (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson) as the plucky snowman Olaf, Robert Creighton (Anything Goes) as the meanie Duke of Weselton, John Riddle (The Visit) as Prince Hans and Jelani Alladin making his Broadway debut as our favourite ice farmer Kristoff.

The creative team is also being shaken up as Tony Award winner Rob Ashford - of The Wedding Singer, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and Evita fame - replaces Christopher Gattelli as choreographer.

Frozen's current trajectory is to begin rehearsals in June ahead of a soft launch at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts' Buell Theatre from August 17 through October 1. You can buy tickets for the Denver previews on May 1 at 10am ET by clicking here.

If all goes well with these preview performances, Frozen will make its grand debut on the Broadway stage at the legendary St. James Theatre next year.
