Yahoo News Disney's Kim Possible movie casts a Buffy legend
Many of you were probably what the sitch is on Disney Channel's live-action Kim Possible movie, since the first major casting announcement came out last month.
The House of Mouse is rebooting everyone's favourite spy genre spoof with a live-action movie, where newcomer Sadie Stanley will save the world as Kim and The Goldbergs' Sean Giambrone will probably shout "Booyah!" a lot as Ron.
But what about all of our other favourites from the Disney Channel cartoon? For starters, Disney has announced that How I Met Your Mother and Buffy star Alyson Hannigan and Grey's Anatomy's Connie Ray are going to be Kim's mum and grandma Dr. Ann Possible and Nana Possible.
Let's not forget Kim's arch-enemies, Todd Stashwick (Heroes) and Taylor Ortega will plot world domination in the movie as Dr. Drakken and his sidekick Shego (via Deadline).
Also joining the cast will be Ciara Wilson (Bizaardvark) as Kim's classmate Athena and Erika Tham (Make It Pop) as high school mean girl Bonnie.
The live-action movie is being written by The DUFF's Josh Cagan with Bob Schooley and Mark McCorkle, the Emmy-winning duo who created the original animated series for the Disney Channel.
"Sadie [Stanley] delivers Kim's confidence, smarts, and agility; most importantly, she's an everyday girl with an extraordinary spirit," Disney Channel's Judy Taylor recently said of the new cast. "Sean [Giambrone] is such a magnetic actor; he always finds the right balance of physical comedy and heart.
"We're excited for audiences to see Sadie and Sean bring these iconic roles to life."
Kim Possible aired from 2002 to 2007, and spawned two previous animated TV movies, numerous video games, endless toys and merchandise and even theme experiences at Disney parks.
Disney Channel hasn't announced a US or UK air date for the live-action movie yet.
