Original movies coming to Disney+ UK in February 2022
Torn (4 February)
Documentary filmmaker and photographer Max Lowe explores the fate of his father in this documentary about the world of climbing. His dad, Alex Lowe, was killed in an avalanche in 1999. One of the survivors of the tragedy was Alex's close friend Conrad Anker. Years later, Anker married Alex's widow and helped to raise his late friend's children, including Max. The documentary is an intimate portrait of a family and their very unique circumstances.
The French Dispatch (16 February via Star)
Wes Anderson delivers a quintessential example of his trademark style in The French Dispatch, which acts as a lovingly crafted homage to eclectic magazines like The New Yorker. It's an anthology movie, with disparate sections representing different articles in the titular publication, edited by Bill Murray's character.
As fans of Anderson's work have come to expect, the ensemble cast is packed with A-list names. One segment features Frances McDormand reporting on Timothée Chalamet's student protester, while another follows Tilda Swinton as she tells the story of a prison artist played by Benicio del Toro. After a cinema run late last year, the film is now set to be available on Disney+.
The King's Man (23 February via Star)
Released into cinemas over the Christmas period, Matthew Vaughn's prequel to his Kingsman series is set for a swift move to streaming. Ralph Fiennes the cast as Orlando Oxford, who puts together a clandestine intelligence organisation as tensions swirl in the run-up to what would become the First World War.
Gemma Arterton and Djimon Hounsou shine as members of the new organisation, with Tom Hollander taking on three roles and Rhys Ifans stealing the show as a wild take on Rasputin.

Pam & Tommy (weekly from 2 February via Star)
Before viral videos were a daily part of our lives, one of the first was a sex tape featuring Baywatch star Pamela Anderson and her rocker husband Tommy Lee. The tape had been stolen from the couple's home by a tradesman and then leaked online. This series from I, Tonya and Cruella filmmaker Craig Gillespie follows the fallout of the scandal, with Lily James as Anderson and Sebastian Stan as Lee. Early promo shots have wowed viewers thanks to the actors' uncanny transformations.
The first three episodes of the series will debut on 2 February, with the rest of the eight-part series set to arrive on Disney+ weekly.
Alice’s Wonderland Bakery E1-6 (9 February)
This animated series serves as a spin-off from Alice in Wonderland, with the focus on another Alice — great-granddaughter of the film's protagonist. It follows Alice and her friends as they use enchanted tools and cooking equipment to put together cakes and other sweet treats for their neighbours.
Marvel Studios Assembled: Hawkeye (9 February)/Eternals (16 February)
Marvel has been lifting the lid on all of its recent big and small screen projects with episodes of the Assembled series. Two of last year's Marvel outings are set to step into the spotlight this month, with an episode focused on the Hawkeye series and another telling the story of Chloe Zhao's introduction of a whole new superhero team in Eternals.
Secrets of Sulphur Springs S2 (9 February)
This time-travelling mystery tale returns for a second series as young best friends Griffin and Harper continue to investigate the events surrounding the dilapidated and haunted Tremont Hotel. In this second run, Harper seeks to uncover her own connections to the hotel.
The Wonderful Winter of Mickey Mouse (18 February)
This series of shorts featuring the most famous roster of characters in the Disney stable is back with four seasonal specials this year, starting with winter.
The Walking Dead S11 (weekly from 21 February via Star)
Having left things off with a dramatic finale in October, The Walking Dead returns for the second half of its final season. Expect plenty of bloodshed as the long-running series reaches its final conclusion.
