It feels like forever since Disney announced that they were going to buy all of 20th Century Fox's movie and TV assets, but it looks like the deal is finally going to come to a close soon.
Variety has a report about a Securities and Exchange Commission filing that Fox made, which is mostly about regional sports networks, but the interesting part is the bit about the deal expecting to close in March.
The thing movie fans are most looking to is probably the addition of the X-Men, Deadpool and Fantastic Four into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
While it might sound crazy to add so many more superheroes (and we don't even want to think about introducing the Mutant race into the canon), Disney CEO Bob Iger said "It only makes sense for Marvel to be supervised by one entity. There shouldn't be two Marvels."
Disney's streaming service will also become a more attractive prospect with the House of Mouse owning Family Guy, Futurama and The Simpsons, so we'll spend all our time binge-watching things we've seen a million times before rather than any of the original content they are planning to make (and they are planning a LOT of content).
