Distressed Kangaroo Rescued From Victoria Swimming Pool

A kangaroo was found in a swimming pool in Rosedale, Victoria, and was assisted by Theresa Matthews, owner of Our Haven Wildlife Shelter Inc.

“It’s cooler in the pool than outside,” an observer can be heard saying, as the marsupial floated in the water, in video uploaded to Facebook on December 29.

Matthews told Storyful that the kangaroo, which they named Scruff, was frightened and when “kangaroos are scared, they just run into and jump anything to get away.”

Out-of-control grass fires were reported in the state of Victoria on the same date, which could have contributed to the kangaroo seeking shelter in the residential area. Credit: Our Haven Wildlife Shelter Inc via Storyful
