Disturbance Causes Crowd Panic at Gun Reform Rally in Washington

A disturbance caused panic among attendees of the March For Our Lives gun reform rally on the National Mall in Washington on Saturday, June 11.

This footage, captured by photojournalist Tara Szczepanski, shows demonstrators gathered at the National Mall.

A moment of silence was held to honor victims of gun violence before members of the crowd became startled and started running. A voice quickly came over the loudspeakers urging attendees not to run, saying, “There is no issue here.”

According to reports a person in the crowd yelled “gun shot,” prompting the panic.
