Divers Search Java Sea for Remnants of Crashed Sriwijaya Air Plane

Divers combed the sea floor north of Jakarta, Indonesia, in search of the black boxes and the remains of Sriwijaya Air flight SJ182 on January 11.

Indonesia’s search and rescue agency announced one of the two black boxes from the flight had been recovered on January 12. The flight data recorder black box was discovered days after the aircraft lost contact shortly following takeoff from Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. The airline said 62 people were on board the flight, including six crew.
