Being the Nosey Nellie I am, I had to take a look at these stories, and I was certainly engaged. Here are the most shocking reasons people closed the chapter on their marriage:

."A guy I used to work with divorced his wife during her first round of chemotherapy. He explained that her hair had started to fall out, and the prospect of not being able to pull her hair during doggy style for at least two years was too much of a sacrifice. He tried his hardest to play the victim after that when EVERYONE in the office stopped talking to him."

."I knew a couple that had been married for years. The wife became pregnant around the tenth year of their marriage. The husband left her the day the baby was born because he decided he didn’t want children."

."My ex divorced me after his best friend died of a drug overdose. He left me to be with his best friend’s girlfriend, feeling that he needed to 'take care of her' now that his friend was gone. We had only just met her at the funeral. They broke up within two weeks."

."I knew a couple who had been married for 25 years. They always supported each other, got along well, doted on their daughter, shared hobbies, and seemed happy from the outside. She called me to say they were divorcing, and when I asked if there was anything I could do to help or if she wanted me to babysit while they went to couples counseling, she said no. He wanted the heating on all day, every day, and she found it too warm. There was no way to recover from that. I'm assuming there was more to it."

."My mate teared up during the wedding ceremony. Apparently, it was considered unmanly, and his wife got the 'ick.'"

."My coworker’s daughter divorced her husband right after their honeymoon because he was so cheap he wouldn’t let her eat out. They had to get groceries for the mini fridge, and that was all they were allowed to eat because eating out was a waste of 'their' money now that they were married. (But it was fine when she paid for meals out before they got married)."

."I had a client file for divorce because every morning, for seven years, his wife would ask him how he takes his coffee."

."A friend of mine divorced her husband over a cocktail. He didn’t drink, but she drank occasionally. They always split the bill, except if she ordered an alcoholic beverage—then she would pay for it. Ironically, his non-alcoholic drinks cost more than her alcoholic ones (expensive mocktails, smoothies, etc). A group of about eight of us went out for dinner. Afterward, she ordered her first alcoholic drink, a cocktail. He told the waiter to cancel it, but she insisted she wanted it. They argued back and forth, even though she was going to pay for it herself. She walked out and filed for divorce. He refused to pay for her dinner, so I covered it and told her to consider it her first divorce present."

."I know a couple who divorced because the husband refused to shave off his beard. I’m sure there was more to the story, but apparently, that was the relationship's final straw."

."I know a couple for whom the last straw was my father making a joke at the wife's expense, and the husband laughing at it. For context, they'd been on the rocks for a while but were trying to save the marriage with counseling. At their son's birthday party, my dad was lighting the candles, and the wife asked, 'Why did you start from the edge instead of the middle?' Dad replied, 'I was worried you’d have nothing to complain about.' The husband laughed, the wife stormed out, and they divorced."

."I know a couple who got married, had a big white wedding, and six weeks later filed for divorce. The wife said, 'I realized I didn’t actually love him.' Huh?"

."I knew a couple who were swingers. The wife fell in love with another man, got pregnant, and left her husband. She’s still with the other man today."

.And lastly, "A friend of mine said his wife shut the door in his father's face. Apparently, he got really mad about it, and things haven’t been the same since. He filed for divorce a couple of months ago."
