Dixie Fire Burns in Red Clover Valley, Growing to Almost 820,000 Acres
California’s Dixie Fire grew by 42,000 acres, to 819,956 acres, on August 31-September 1.
The fire continued to burn in the Lassen Volcanic National Park, and towards Highway 44 and Westwood Lodging Road, according to the latest Cal Fire update.
The affected areas were placed under a “red flag warning” for gusty winds and low humidity.
The wildfire has destroyed over 690 residential buildings since July 13, according to Cal Fire, as well as over 130 commercial properties. The latest report said that over 14,200 buildings remained threatened.
