DJ Obama! Spotify offers outgoing President a glitzy new job

Barack Obama is about to be out of a job but he has already been offered a glitzy new role by Spotify.

The music streaming company is after a new ‘President of Playlists’ and the job advert seems to be specifically written for the 55-year-old soon-to-be ex-President of the USA.

It reads: “As an organisation, we are full of hope, and always open to change.”

Listing what qualifications the candidate needs, the advert stated that they should “have at least eight years experience running a highly-regarded nation” and “substantiate new playlist ideas, e.g. from a playlist for shooting hoops with your friends, to the perfect warm up playlist for addressing the nation about health care legislation that bears your name”.

It added: “Have good relationships with a wide range of artists and musicians…

“Ever had Kendrick Lamar play at your birthday bash? We’d love to hear about it!”

And if the advert couldn’t be clearer about courting Obama, it asked that the candidate be “one of the greatest speakers of all time”, who also has a Nobel Peace Prize.

Spotify founder and CEO Dan Elk, even tweeted the President directly about the job, writing: “Hey @BarackObama, I heard you were interested in a role at Spotify. Have you seen this one?”

Unfortunately this is probably as likely as Donald Trump becoming President. Oh, wait…
