There’s ONE reason Arnold Schwarzenegger didn’t try to be president over Trump

The Terminator star has revealed his dream job is to be Commander in Chief of the United States of America but there’s one thing that’s stopping him.

We have to admit it wasn’t initially obvious to us why the ex-Governor of California, who says he’d snap up the chance to be the president, didn’t run for office.

Arnold has reluctantly admitted the obstacle that he’s unable to crush with his bare hands or talk his way around and which is stopping him from ever fulfulling his dream.

The star can’t actually run for president because he was born in Austria. Its as simple and as logical as that. However, he would’ve run against Donald Trump to be the Republican candidate if he was permitted.

Confusing, since Arnold was elected to be the ‘Governator’ for eight years from 2003. The actor told Adweek that getting into the Oval Office is his dream, but he doesn’t actually like politics that much.

He said: “If I’d been born in America, I would’ve run. Because now? This was a very good time to get in the race.

“I didn’t love politics, but I love policy.”

The Republican has admitted that he won’t be voting for his party’s candidate for the first time since moving to America.

Earlier this month, Arnie released a statement on Twitter, which read: “For the first time since I became a citizen in 1983, I will not vote for the Republican candidate for President.

"Like many Americans, I’ve been conflicted by this election – I still haven’t made up my mind about how exactly I will vote next month. I have been a proud Republican since I moved to America in 1968 and I heard Nixon’s words about getting the government off our backs, free trade, and defending our liberty with a strong military. That day I joined the party of Abraham Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, and Ronald Reagan.

"But as proud as I am to label myself a Republican, there is one label that I hold above all else – American.

"So I want to take a moment today to remind my fellow Republicans that it is not only acceptable to choose your country over your party – it is your duty.”
