'Docking Confirmed': SpaceX Crew Docks at International Space Station

The SpaceX Crew Dragon docked at the International Space Station on May 31, roughly 24 hours after the crew launched from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center. Footage from NASA shows the historic occasion.

The SpaceX Crew Dragon launched from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida, on May 30, marking the first time American astronauts were launched into space from US soil in nearly a decade.

The launch was originally due to take place on May 27, however it was delayed due to severe weather.

Saturday’s launch was the first time NASA astronauts were sent to space in a commercially built and operated spacecraft, and the first manned launch from United States soil since 2011. Credit: NASA via Storyful
