Doctor Who boss wants JK Rowling to write an episode

From Digital Spy

Doctor Who showrunner Chris Chibnall is on the hunt for a specific writer to put her spin on an episode: Harry Potter's JK Rowling.

The eleventh season – starring Jodie Whittaker as the show's first female lead – debuted earlier this month and has now been confirmed as the biggest launch of the series EVER. However, even with such a mighty success on his hands, Chris is keen to get JK involved.

Attending the recent New York Comic-Con, Chris teased that Rowling has previous with the franchise: sitting down with former showrunner Russell T Davies and David Tennant way back when, but the collaboration never materialised.

Via Radio Times, he revealed his intentions for a second bite of the cherry.

"If JK Rowling wants to have anything to do with Doctor Who, please give her my phone number. I think she is one of our greatest living writers.

"I think Harry Potter is an absolute transcendent piece of work and continues to be with the theatre play and with Fantastic Beasts [and Where to Find Them].

"JK Rowling is a genius and if she ever even wants to see what we do on Doctor Who, you tell her from me, the doors are open."

Meanwhile, American Gods scribe Neil Gaiman has thrown himself into the writer's pot, after sharing his interest in creating a story for Whittaker's new Doctor.

Doctor Who continues with 'Rosa' this Sunday (October 21) on BBC One.
