Doctor explains how you should actually eat strawberries for 'double nutritional value'
There aren't many ways to eat fruit - most are self explanatory. You either peel the skin off and eat it or you chop off the leaves. But apparently we've been eating strawberries wrong our whole lives.
Dr Karan Raj, a medical expert who debunks health myths and hacks on TikTok explained a way of eating strawberries which would give the most health benefits.
Posting to his 5.3 million followers, the expert said: "If you're eating strawberries, eat the leaves as well. A strawberry top with the leaves is known as a calyx. It has a nutritional value on par with the berry itself."

In fact, the leaves are packed with antioxidants and they contain almost as much vitamin C as as the berry itself, he added.
The leaf tops also contain magnesium as well as fibre. However, people had a lot of questions in the comment section.
One person said: "What about the pesticides on most of the leaves and fruit?".
If you're worried about how to wash your strawberries, you can use bicarbonate of soda to give your fruit and vegetables an extra clean, chef and nutritionist Lisa Marley recommends.
"Washing with water alone can help remove some bacteria, but using a vinegar and bicarbonate of soda solution may be more effective at reducing the risk of E.coli contamination," she explained.
She recommends soaking the fruit or veg in a litre of water and adding 150ml of white vinegar and 40g of bicarbonate of soda, stirring and rinse thoroughly after soaking for five minutes.
