Yahoo News Doctor Foster boss teases second spin-off after the success of Life
Doctor Foster series 3 may not ever happen, but it recently aired a spin-off titled Life, which focused on Victoria Hamilton's character Anna Baker after she relocated to Manchester and reinvented herself as Belle.
Doctor Foster and Life creator Mike Bartlett has now been talking about the possibility of a second spin-off – and he knows exactly which character it would focus on this time.
Speaking to the Daily Star's 'Hot TV' column (via The List), Bartlett said he would want to further explore the story of Tom Foster, the teenage son of Doctor Gemma Foster and her husband Simon, who is currently missing.

"I do think about Tom quite a lot," he admitted. "He’s gone and Gemma doesn’t know where. I feel I don’t know the answer and Gemma doesn’t know the answer. It has been left in a limbo state.
"He’s out there doing something and there’s a story to be told in some way. One day I might tell that story. The characters stay alive and you come back to them."
Life premiered back in September, and viewers were very impressed with the quality of its acting, and for a major twist in its first episode.

Meanwhile, Doctor Foster star Suranne Jones was the one who poured cold water over the idea of a third series, saying she believes "Gemma's done".
