Although the trailer doesn't give too much of the story away, it seems chock full of interesting people with cracks in relationships already showing.
Rather than revisiting Gemma Foster's dramatic life, the series is instead focusing on her neighbour Anna Baker (Victoria Hamilton) and her story.
Anna now goes by the name Belle and is looking after her 15 year-old niece Maya (Erin Kellyman) - so there are already a lot of questions about her life.
Doctor Foster's Adam James will also reprise his role as Anna's husband Neil Baker.
Stage legend Elaine Paige, Susannah Fielding (This Time with Alan Partridge), Adrian Lester (Riviera), Rachael Stirling (The Bletchley Circle), Saira Choudhry (Hollyoaks) and Melissa Johns (Coronation Street) will also star.
The official synopsis of Life reads: "Set in Manchester, Life follows the stories of the residents of a large house divided into four flats. As each of the four stories unfold and intertwine in surprising ways, they tell a larger story about what happens when we step out of our personal space and take a closer look into other people's lives.
"Life explores love, loss, birth, death, the ordinary, the extraordinary and everything in between."
We might not be getting a third series of Doctor Foster, but Life looks like it has many stories to tell to make up for it.
BBC One will be airing the six-part series this autumn.
