With a lot of us still working from home, we might find ourselves relaxing a bit too much while sitting on our chairs at home. This can have an effect on your posture which can lead to further problems with your back.

A doctor has shared a simple movement that can improve your posture while sitting at your desk. Dr Michael Rowe shared the exercise on TikTok.

He said: "Here's a simple exercise that you can do throughout the day to not only improve but to also maintain your posture. The great part is you can do this one standing or seated."

He goes on to explain how to do the exercise while sat on a chair, starting off with your arms out in front of you in a clapping position.

"Put your shoulders forward reaching in front of you as much as you can until you feel a deep stretch form right in between your shoulder blades," he added.

Once you've held that for a few seconds you should bring your shoulder blades back until they are starting to pinch, while still maintaining the clap position. Then keep repeating these two movements.
