Dr David Dao, the doctor who was filmed being violently draffed of off a flight, has reached a settlement with United Airlines.

Dao, 69, was knocked out and suffered broken nose earlier this month when he was randomly selected to make way on an overbooked flight in Chicago's O'Hare International Airport and resisted instructions to leave.

The ensuing struggle was, naturally, filmed by other passengers causing a huge outcry and a shit-ton of terrible publicity for the airline.

Now Dao's lawyer Thomas Demetrio has confirmedthat a settlement for an undisclosed amount had been agreed between the two parties.

"For this acceptance of corporate accountability, United is to be applauded," he said.

In a separate statement United said: 'We are pleased to report that United and Dr. Dao have reached an amicable resolution of the unfortunate incident that occurred aboard flight 3411.

"We look forward to implementing the improvements we have announced, which will put our customers at the center of everything we do."

United have already said they'd increase the incentive for voluntarily bumped passengers to $10,000 (£7,800).
