Zara is having a late start because Joe needs to go to the dentist. Joe has lots of questions about the boy whose life she tried to save. He asks why people fight and Zara doesn't know how to answer him. Zara manages to stop his barrage of questions, but is then confronted with the sight of a dead bird on her windscreen. There is quite a bit of blood and it clearly disturbs Zara, who clears it up whilst trying to keep Joe away.

Zara later goes to the station alone and finds Rob outside. She tells him about the bird, the disturbing note she received the other day and the fact that she was followed after the funeral. Rob is considerate, suggesting that she may be suffering from shock, but Zara soon dismisses this, claiming she is just being paranoid.

Back at The Mill, Zara tells Daniel. He at first dismisses her fears, angering Zara. Daniel later apologises and she admits she is being silly. However, as Zara leaves for the evening, there is a hooded figure nearby, watching her.

Meanwhile, it's Shak's birthday and the family are all at the Icon having a celebratory lunch. Ruhma tells Shak that she has put something in his bank account, in order to help him start his adult life. It is two thousand pounds. Ruhma has been saving for years. Shak is thrilled, while Alia is put out that she has to wait a while until she gets hers.

Heston and Ruhma discuss ISAs or the idea of Shak getting a new computer. Shak is overjoyed and phones his friend to tell him they're going have a great party tonight and soon after he is eyeing up a very expensive pair of trainers.

Elsewhere, when a bored desk-bound Rob spots an opportunity to prevent a crime, will he do as he's told or will he rebel?
