Who will replace Dan Walker on BBC Breakfast?

The BBC has not found Dan Walker’s replacement yet, but they are currently advertising his role as “chief presenter” on BBC Breakfast.

The job advert says: “BBC Breakfast is seeking a Chief presenter to work with Sally Nugent, Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt on the UK’s most watched morning show.

“The key role is to inform and entertain viewers with everything they need for the day ahead.”

The BBC is looking for someone with “significant broadcasting experience” who is “authoritative and experienced” while also being “warm [and] entertaining.”

Applications for the role are due by May 24, so viewers may wait a while before seeing a new face on the red sofa.

Meanwhile, there have been rumours that regular BBC Breakfast presenter Jon Kay may be offered the role. Kay, who has stepped in to cover the chief presenters before, is the bookies’ favourite to take over Walker’s role. However, no formal announcement has been made yet.
