Liverpool is enjoying a boom in new and first-time restaurants arriving in the city. The high street is packed with chicken shops and burger bars, with many imported directly from the United States.

Louisiana chicken chain Popeyes opened on Lord Street in November 2022. The company is now on its way to opening a second and third venue in New Mersey Retail Park and Knowlsey respectively.

Ohio hamburger company Wendys launched its first site in Liverpool's Gravity Max complex but has since expanded across the region. Chick-fil-A is the latest in the new American fast food chains confirmed with rumblings a Wingstop restaurant won't be far behind.
