Danny Dyer’s daughter has revealed that he is now teetotal after a rough year, saying that “he doesn’t drink anymore.”
Dani Dyer, daughter of the EastEnders actor and now an actress in her own right, opened up about her family ahead of her appearance on new reality TV show, Survival of the Fittest.
The 40-year-old actor had a turbulent 2017 after being forced to take a break from the hit soap amid reported fears about his drinking.
Speaking to the Daily Star, the 21-year-old barmaid Dani said: “He’s always been at home. With my mum and dad, you’re going to always get horrible things said about your family but they’re really strong now.
“They got married. He needed a place near EastEnders. He works late nights but he’s home.”
She added: “My dad doesn’t drink anymore.”
Danny reportedly flew to South Africa to “sort his life out” after taking a break from the soap last year.
The news comes after the renowned soap actor warned his daughter against doing “anything silly” on the new reality show.
According to The Sun, she said: “When I first told him, like any dad, he had his protective hat on and said, ‘Don’t do anything silly.’
“Now he is getting it and he said ‘It feels real now and I’m so proud of you.”
She added: “He knows the person I am and he is really excited and it’s nice to have that support at home.
"He probably will be emotional as well. My mum and dad will be watching it every single night.”
