Dog crashes live Russian news broadcast as shocked presenter looks on

An excitable dog stole the limelight on Russian television after it bounded onto camera in the middle of a live news broadcast.

Mir24 presenter Ilona Linarte was attempting to deliver a live report on housing renovation when the pooch came skidding into the studio.

In a clip shared on YouTube, the baffled anchor initially looks confused as to what is making the panting noises and she gasps in shock as the animal appears alongside her in front of the camera.

Ms Linarte was left trying to contain her laughter as she determinedly continued with the programme.

She managed to regain her composure but was startled again seconds later when the playful dog jumps up into shot and props himself up on the table.

The black Labrador is seen in the footage gleefully sniffing her notes as the Ms Linarte shouts: "Why is there is dog in the studio guys?!"

She then tells the camera "I am moire of a cat lady" but eventually relents and pats the exited animal, and continues with the broadcast as it sniffs around her feet.

According to reports, the dog had been a guest on another show and escaped into the studio.

The video, which was shared on the MTPK news YouTube channel, has been viewed more than six million times.
