Dog House Destroyed By 12kg Of WEED That Fell High From The Sky

A woman who thought she had heard thunder outside her house was shocked to discover that the noise was actually a stash of drugs that had crashed through her roof.

Maya Donnelly found her dog house crushed when she woke up the next morning - and a hole in the roof of the carport above where it had been sitting.

A mysterious package was found in the ruins and when she opened it up, Maya discovered approximately 12kg of weed inside - with a street value of around £6,500.

Maya, who lives in Nogales, near the U.S.-Mexico border, told the Nogales International newspaper: “It’s all right on top of our dog’s house.

”It just made a perfectly round hole through our carport.”

The mum-of-three added: "Where it landed was clear on the other side of the house from the bedrooms.

"We were lucky in that sense.”

After contacting her husband Bill, the pair phoned the police and officers told them the drugs were probably dropped too early from a light aircraft smuggling marijuana from Mexico.

Nogales Police Chief Derek Arnson said: ”Someone definitely made a mistake, and who knows what the outcome of that mistake might be for them.”

The drugs are now safely in police custody but police have provided extra patrols in the Donnelly’s neighbourhood in case someone comes looking for them.

The family now have to spend around £330 on repairs to the carport and for a new home for their German Shepherd, Hulk.

Maya said that her friends think she should have kept the drugs to pay for the repairs to her home.

She said: “That’s what everybody says: ‘Why did you call 911?’”

“But how can you have a clear conscience, right? We could have made lots of home repairs with that.”
