A dog left barely able to walk has got a new lease of life thanks to a Royal British Legion bag his owner uses to carry him around the country.

Timothy, a 12-year-old King Charles Spaniel, has been left unable to walk very far having suffered a seizure in August 2015.

“He walked for a long way on a warm day and later the same day, had a seizure which we thought was a stroke or some kind of fit. It happened twice, about two weeks apart,” his owner Rory Fox explains.

Mr Fox now cares for his beloved pet, who has his own Dog In A Bag website, by putting him in a carrier bag when they go out, saying: “He loves it.”

He adds: “Since then, we’ve not let him walk very far – and instead of leaving him at home when we go out for the day – we carry him in a bag.

“Since September 2015 he has been travelling the country on foot, by pushchair, by bus, by boat, by train and by car with his trusty Royal British Legion poppy jute bag.

“The Royal British Legion poppy bag is just the right size for Timothy, and has very comfortable handles – that’s important when carrying him for hours on end.”

Mr Fox says he is often stopped in the street by canine lovers who recognise Timothy from social media and want to grab a photo.
