Dog makes daring escape from animal shelter by opening THREE doors

Imagine the plot of The Great Escape, but on four legs.

That’s essentially what happened last week when a German Shepherd made a daring bid for freedom at an animal shelter in California, and ESCAPED.

Ginger the German Shepherd was dropped off at the Apple Valley animal shelter in California last week, but it seems that she wasn’t planning on staying for too long.

Video footage posted by the shelter on Facebook appears to show Ginger escaping through the front door after pushing it open with her legs.

Amazingly, the door was one of three that Ginger had tackled on her way to freedom.

But her liberation was short-lived, and she was returned to the animal shelter after being found several days later.

Staff at the shelter say that Ginger’s original owner was heartbroken to give her up, but couldn’t afford to keep her after becoming homeless.

Poor Ginger clearly didn’t react well to being left at the shelter, and decided to make a break for it to track down her family.

Thankfully, Ginger’s taste of the outside world will put her in good stead - as she’s now found a forever home with new owners.
