Caring Dog Sits And Comforts His Pooch Pal After He Suffered Horrific Abuse

This is the heart-warming moment a dog offers comfort to his new friend, who had already gone through horrific abuse in his short life.

The sweet act of kindness shows one-year-old border collie Simon lifting up his paw to rest it on puppy Sammie, who was lying on an operating table.

Sammie, who is just four-months-old, had been covered in spray paint, dragged through the streets by a car and shot.

Jackie O'Sullivan, co-founder of Rescue Dogs Rock NYC, said of the moment: “The compassion and understanding between animals is beyond me.”

Simon himself had suffered abuse at the hands of his former owner, and seemed to be aware of the hardships that Sammie had been going through.

Happily, both dogs have been treated at the rescue centre and will survive their ordeals, although Sammie may yet lose the leg he was shot in.

He also faces more surgery and physical therapy before a new home can be found for him - but he now has a friend for life in Simon.
