Dog walker, 36, 'murdered in park by two boys and girl all aged 15'

Three 15-year-olds have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a dog walker was attacked in a Warwickshire park on Wednesday,

Two 15-year-old boys, who cannot be identified, were arrested on suspicion of murder on Thursday, while a third teen, a girl also aged 15, is also being questioned on the same alleged charge.

Detective Inspector Collette O’Keefe appealed for witnesses to the attack which took place at 6.15pm on Tuesday evening, and urged people not to share footage on social media.

She said: “We would ask anyone with information to get in touch with us as soon as possible.

“Though we believe this to be an isolated incident, with no threat to the wider public, residents can expect to see a heightened police presence in the area for their reassurance.

"We are aware there is footage circulating of the altercation on social media and we would ask people not to share it while we continue our ongoing investigation to work out the circumstances behind this man's death.

"Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man at this sad time."

The girl was the third person to be arrested after two boys, also both aged 15, were taken into custody, and police say they are still investigating who was involved.

Investigating officers believe that an altercation which took place in the recreation ground is connected to Hackett's death.

O'Keefe appealed for witnesses to the incident to call Warwickshire Police on 101, quoting incident 90 of 26 April.
