Communities in the Dominican Republic surveyed the damage caused by Hurricane Fiona on Monday, September 19.

The storm made landfall in the Dominican Republic in the early hours, bringing maximum sustained winds of around 90 miles per hour, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) said. The NHC had warned of the potential for “life-threatening and catastrophic” flooding across the country.

Luis Ariel Jimenez said he took this footage in Higuey, west of Punta Cana, after Fiona had passed on Monday.
