The Deadpool we know and love is a foul-mouthed Merc with a Mouth whose never afraid to drop a few F-bombs while he's beheading an enemy. That apparently will not be changing now that he's owned by Disney.

Ryan Reynolds's masked mercenary is one of many X-Men and Fantastic Four characters who are being integrated into the Marvel Cinematic Universe as part of Disney's groundbreaking deal to buy 21st Century Fox for $52.4 billion.

The idea of the R-rated Deadpool having to conform to a more family friendly tone at Disney has been troublesome for many hardcore fane, but it seems that there's no need to panic just yet.

Disney boss Bob Iger made it clear in a call with investors on Thursday (December 14) that the House of Mouse has plans to tone down the violence and general NSFW-ness in Deadpool when it's folded into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

"[Deadpool] clearly has been and will be Marvel branded. But we think there might be an opportunity for a Marvel-R brand for something like Deadpool," Iger clarified (via The Hollywood Reporter).

"As long as we let the audiences know what's coming, we think we can manage that fine."

Iger may live to regret his leniency because Ryan Reynolds's masked assassin is already taking the piss out of the Disney-Fox deal on Twitter:

As if Deadpool being thrown out of Disneyland wasn't risque enough, did you notice that the security guard manhandling him is named Stark? We imagine there will be many naughty in-jokes to come…
