Solo: A Star Wars Story's Lando Calrissian and L3-37 are reuniting for a new project adapting one of the 2000s most famous comedy films.

Donald Glover and Phoebe Waller-Bridge will lead a new TV series version of Mr & Mrs Smith, which was the film that starred Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie as a married couple who discover they are both assassins that have been hired to kill each other. Famously, the film led to 'Brangelina' becoming a thing.

As reported by Entertainment Weekly, this TV adaptation will be coming to Amazon Prime Video exclusively, with Glover and Waller-Bridge creating it with Fargo writer Francesca Sloane. It's aiming for a release sometime in 2022.

Head of Amazon Studios, Jennifer Salke, said in a statement: "Talk about the dream team! Donald and Phoebe are two of the most talented creators and performers in the world.

"It's truly a dream for us, as it will be for our global audience, to have these two forces of nature collaborating as a powerhouse creative team.

"Mr. and Mrs. Smith is an iconic property, and we can't wait to see how Donald, Phoebe and Francesca make it their own. We're thrilled to be working with them, and with such great partners at New Regency."

Amazon Prime Video has been aggressive in getting exclusive content from established IPs lately, snapping up sequels to Borat and Coming to America, as well as pouring tons of money into a The Lord of the Rings TV series.
